 Welcome to Messiah Lutheran Church, a welcoming community of faith in Valdosta, GA. We are a congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), deeply rooted in the teachings of the Bible and committed to sharing the love of Christ with our neighbors and beyond.

 At Messiah, our mission is to glorify God through worship, service, and fellowship. We believe in the power of the Gospel to transform lives and bring hope through Christ to our community. Guided by the teachings of Martin Luther and the rich traditions of the LCMS, we strive to uphold the Word of God and live out His commands in our daily lives.

 We acknowledge and accept all the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as the revealed Word of God, verbally inspired, and regard them as the final authority for doctrine and practice.

We also acknowledge and accept all the Symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, contained in the Book of Concord of 1580, to be the true and genuine expositions of the doctrines of the Bible and a summary of the Christian faith.

This congregation accepts without reservation:

A. The three Ecumenical Creeds (the Apostolic, the Nicene, and the Athanasian)

B. The Unaltered Augsburg Confession

C. The Apology of the Augsburg Confession

D. The Smalcald Articles

E. Luther’s Large and Small Catechisms

F. The Formula of Concord

 Our worship services are traditional, incorporating hymns, liturgy, and Bible-based preaching that enriches our spiritual lives and fosters a strong sense of community. We celebrate the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion with reverence and joy, recognizing them as means of grace through which God strengthens our faith.
